Tandem Language Exchange Meeting Event

tandem

The Tandem language exchange programme is an open method of learning languages where two people from different cultures and mother tongues can meet and practice their foreign language skills on a regular basis.
The key to success is a reciprocal dependence and mutual support between the two partners : the same time, energy and commitment is spent for both languages.

HOW IT WORKS?
- Put a tag on your T-shirt with the language YOU speak (language 1)
- Come to the Library Canteen at the specific time and date
- Find someone who has a tag with the language you are interested TO PRACTICE (language 2)
- and then...simply start speaking with the other tandem participants in either Language 1 or Language 2!

So far, we know that we have interested tandem participants for Greek, English, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Chinese, etc.

This programme will help you:
- to improve the knowledge of a foreign language and particularly oral expression
- to get prepared for a stay abroad
- to meet a person from a different country and culture
- to develop intercultural skills and sensibility
